After they cleaned up and redressed, Devik tapped on the initial list of potential suspects he received from Karid.

“Emmy,” he said. She looked up from where she sat on the couch. “Do you think you can write a program to monitor and compare communication activity?”

She tilted her head. “What are you looking for?”

“Wurvez would like to determine if there’s been unusual activity with Costonia since you females joined us.”

“How far back should I go?”

“Six months? Do you think that would give enough data to compare?”

“I think so. But I imagine there would be an increase just with people letting their families know we’re here.”

“True.” He nodded. “But, hopefully, our traitor is sending more frequent updates. We can cross check any names with the potential suspect list.”

“Are the actual communications saved? If so, we could run some search terms.”

“If they’re not sent to or from a comm during scheduled work periods or any workstation, then they’re considered personal. An individual has the ability to save it to their own personal files, but it would not be on the main ship’s computers.”

Emmy bit her lip. “Assuming our traitor is smart, he wouldn’t save anything incriminating, regardless.”

“I agree.” Devik smiled as Emmy’s brown eyes became unfocused as she thought.

“I believe I have some ideas on how best to do this.”

“Good. Let me know what you come up with.”

“Of course. Oh, I also had a question.”

“What would you like to know?”

“Who would I talk to about getting a small power source for my laptop? I want to add one that will work out here in space.”

“Our head engineer, Gat’n Wrox, should be able to help. I can ask him to come here or I can escort you to Engineering.”

“That’s not necessary. I can find it on my own.” Emmy smiled and tapped her comm.

Devik chuckled. “Actually, it is necessary. You don’t have access to that deck.”

“Oh. Can I just comm him and ask him?”

“Yes, that would work as well.”

“Okay, I’ll comm him later and see if he has any suggestions.” She bent her head and began working on her tablet.

Devik thought for a moment about Karid’s list. He began tapping on his tablet. I’ll put Invisitraces on each of the suspect’s passwords. Devik set up parameters for what activity would send him an alert. Maybe we’ll get lucky.
